Im Jahr 2009 habe ich einen Schiffsausflug zur Rainbow-Bridge gebucht. Es war ein wenig st\u00fcrmisch aber doch ein toller Tag. Ganz besonders witzig war es Judy und George aus Kanada dort kennenzulernen. Sie leben in der N\u00e4he von Banff und reisen f\u00fcr ihr Leben gern. George fotografiert was das Zeug h\u00e4lt und kein Weg ist zu weit um sch\u00f6ne Fotos und unvergessliche Eindr\u00fccke mit nach Hause zu nehmen. Mit dem „kleinen Schwarzen“, meinem 10.5mm Fisheye, habe ich damals mit meiner D300 dieses Bild geschossen. Man sieht schon, der Tag war gro\u00dfartig und die beiden sind einfach super.<\/p>\n

Eine Weile sp\u00e4ter hat Judy mir eine Mail geschrieben. Sie hat ihre Camera auf der Route 66 verloren. Sie schrieb damals „Sounds like a title of a country song“. Seit dieser Zeit geht es mir das manchmal durch den Kopf ich frage mich wie es wohl geklungen h\u00e4tte wenn Johnny Cash „I lost my camera in Route 66“ gesungen h\u00e4tte…<\/p>\n

Und hier ist ihre Geschichte:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Hi Ansgar,<\/em>
\nFirst of all I want to wish you happy holidays and all the best in the New Year.\u00a0<\/em>Since last writing to you, we visited Machu Pichu in the Peruvian Andes Mountains and also Galapagos Islands off the coast of South America (actually about 1000km off the the coast).\u00a0 The trip was quite expensive but it turned out to be an incredible experience.<\/em>
\nThe only way to visit the Islands is by plane and then you have stay aboard a ship.\u00a0 It was a relatively small tour boat holding at the most 100 people.\u00a0 The access to the islands is very controlled and limited.\u00a0 We visited a number of the islands while taking two excursions a day.\u00a0 The animals and the vegetation is truly unique.\u00a0 The animals have absolutely no fear of man – you can approach any wild animal and touch them – although the guides take a very dim view of this.<\/em><\/p>\n

Machu Pichu is an ancient Inca city that was abandoned shortly after the Spanish conquest.\u00a0 It is high up on the Andes and breathing proved to be a bit of a challenge.\u00a0 Nonetheless,\u00a0 exploring the old city was simply amazing.\u00a0 It is nestled in the mountains with an incredibly beautiful backdrop.\u00a0 I took a lot of photos and posted them on Flickr.<\/em><\/p>\n

We were in the Niagara area again and took these two pictures … I thought you may be amused.<\/em><\/p>\n
